 Thompson was again injured in the third week of 2021 against Southern Illinois, seeing limited time as a backup while healing and not returning full-time until week 10.

When Skylar was just six years old, his family especially his mother was hit by a tragedy. His mother Teresa was diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer and the doctors told his family that chemotherapy would not help her in her recovery.

Teresa and her husband, Brad had traveled across the USA in search of the best treatment for her. She received chemotherapy at the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Unfortunately, on May 11, 2004, Teresa Lynn Thompson passed away, only two days after Mother’s Day.
