(CelebrityAccess News Service) — Top session drummer Tony Thompson, who also manned the skins for disco band Chic, died November 12 of renal cancer in Los Angeles. He was 48

After Chic disbanded in 1981, Thompson became a much sought-after percussionist for a diverse group
of artists including David Bowie, Mike Jagger, Madonna, Rod Stewart, and Led Zeppelin at Live Aid.

A fundraiser in his memory is scheduled for December 16 at the Hard Rock Café. Fans can also make donations in
